    we all know that
    a(b+c)
    is the same as
    a*b + a*c
    that means the number outside the parentheses can be moved inside the ( )

    so for 2(2+2)
    can also be changed to
    2*2+2*2

    and for 8/2(2+2)
    the number outside the parentheses is 2, not 8/2
    so it can be changed to 8/(2*2+2*2) = 1

    I never knew that what Ive learnt is outdated LOL.
    on the page above said "you have to add another set of parentheses to get an answer 1"
    but according to a(b+c) rule that the answer would be 1

    so that means whoever create the modern calculator has done something wrong initially
    because they ignore the rule of a(b+c)?

    but I agree that another set of parentheses is required if the answer is 16
    (8/2)(2+2)
