I have a theory. With the $3M + super changes with a 15% tax on unrealised gains (in 2025 if Labor wins and it passes the Senate unchanged), 30% franked dividend shares with growth are going to be very attractive for the 80,000 funds with more that $3M. Gut feeling is some HNW's have twigged and are building a position in FID. I'm certainly going to buy more on any weakness as a strategic defense. Reason is tax on unrealised gains means you don't have the cash from selling but the franking credits can be set against the tax on the unrealised gains.
