That would make much more sense than having a dedicated 3GL built into the weapon, it will allow them the choice of the 3GL or the MAUL or any other weapon that fits the piccatinny rail, and it will allow any part of the weapon to be removed for repair maintenance etc rather than losing the use of the whole weapons system should something fail.
