It did seem random at the time, especially when he bought the WGO stake then went on record to publicly state he thought PB assets were looking expensive
Doesn't matter in the end really as MIN paid a higher price than Hancock's offer at the time, which then prompted Hancock to up its bids to 36c. One could actually argue that Hancock was the one who helped brought extra cash into STX's coffers when it eventually sold into Hancock's offer.
