100% spot on mate, minor shareholder can't call the shot and as Govt they can't force it either, copper wire is really a private property of TLS if someone needs an access to it hey they have to pay for it no more no less that is how business is done in Australia Govt can't force a change in public or private company just to please them.
Just imagine if they could do anything they like then where is democracy and free market and capitalism?????
If they tried something stupid like that well there sure will be a huge brawl in High Court and it will take years and cost a fortune to settle.
Looking at practicality and reality Telstra is the one that has got the dough and strong cash flow to do the job properly hey they are not perfect but compared to other providers I think they are still better.
I think the Govt wants to show the public that they are trying to do the right thing but the right thing to do is what the best for the country finacially in this matter.
