'say a very conservative sale price of $80 per ton of coal, break even costs $55 per ton, gives $25 profit per ton multiplied by Mantles 6,000,000 tons, equates to $150,000,000 earnings per annum.'
with QLD sadly again under siege from forces of nature today the calcs on this thread based on an $80 per ton coal price estimate need revisiting.
the actual export price of coal heading into 2014, when MNM/exergen are looking to start shipping brown coal product from Victoria, will likely be multiples of $80 per ton.
the motive for Tata, Itochu, Sedgman and Thiess to get the brown coal project up and firing keep getting stronger by the day. a 3 or 4 week delay in autoclave testing will not be stopping businesses like these (with a combined market value well over US$150 billion) from executing an agenda as potnetially valuable as the brown coal project.
