nicely spaced points - if I can please add comments in CAPS -

I was recently talking with a mate in the water distribution business and he told me there is only something like 80 km of missing high capacity water pipeline between Sydney and Melbourne. NEED TO SEE THIS 80KM ON A MAP

Surely there is a high bang for buck project in there to help drought proof much of south east Australia? GREENS, NIMBYS AND INDIGS HAVE A KNEE JERK OBJECTION TO EVERYTHING BEING TALKED ABOUT. BIG PROGRESS COULD BE MADE AT STROKE OF PEN BY CUTTING BACK ENVIRONMENTAL FLOWS.

Connecting major dams, resevoirs, catchments to optimise catchment and storage. MOST EVERYTHING IS OPPOSED BY GREENS NIMBYS AND INDIGS - NO SIGNIFICANT ADDITIONS TO DAMS FOR DECADES. JUST AS WELL OUR PIONEERS BUILT WARRAGAMBA AND THOMSON.

Connecting under-utilised desal plant in Sydney and Melbourne. ? SOUNDS LOONY TOON TO ME BUT THEY WOULD GET CONNECTED IF SYD-MELB WERE. SO WHATS THE POINT.

Being able to drain dams in seasonally high rainfall areas by transferring the water to seasonally dry areas. GREENS, NIMBYS AND INDIGS. OPPOSE EVERYTHING BUT THERE ARE PLENTY OF LATENT PROJECTS AROUND.

Harvesting and storing stormwater runoff from new cities forming part of a decentralising, TOO EXPENSIVE COMPARED TO A PURPOSE BUILT DAM value capture funding model for a Melbourne to Sydney very fast train. PIPE DREAM - HAH
