It would be smart, except you can’t turn nuclear power on and off quickly. The only non fossil fuel generation that can be quickly turned on, on demand, is hydroelectric. Unfortunately the potential of hydroelectricity is limited, especially in Australia and it’s no faster to construct than nuclear.
