Federal Resource Minister Madelaine King has always been consistent and strong in her support of the gas industry as the required energy source in transitioning, also liked her comments on the much discussed Woodside & Santos merger with her remarks being on the line of its up to the two companies to sort out after they have both done their due diligence which is important.
The minister has stated in the press about the State gas policy drawbacks.

"The Perth Basin is a really important resource for the people of WA"
"I respect the State Government's decision to restrict the exports from that basin"
Response in regard to the issue about the scale of the production plant and investment required was.
"Very real"
I think the Minister may have a much better grip on the situation than those that SN had to answer to in his review and I also think this was a very curtious nudge from the Minister as to let's get down to the nitty gritty. Domestic gas supply is priority and can be regulated as such then the rest is up to industry and business to what they do best and that will be beneficial to all.
