It will be hard to tell unless the company provides us with that info. Perhaps a good proxy will be comparing the average revenue per user at the end of the last quarter, to the number when revenue is next announced. The change should be a good indicator if it is organic or not. If it goes up though, I won't care if we paid for it or not as long as it is sustained.
