They know lots. What the tell the market and when, that's the million dollar question.
My guess is that their first announcements are big numbers but missing the important detail. ie:
1 million users (but not how they were acquired)
$200k revenue thus far (without breakdown on ARPU or number of actual paying users)
xx% organic acquisition (but not necessarily describing what 'organic' means)
Then some new development, iOS, new ambassadors and new features.
