I don't know much about mining but I know a bit about energy. Levelised cost of solar, even in this remote location and with 2022 price pressure (module costs, supply chain issues etc.) would be below $50/MWh. Marginal cost of diesel for this site I have no idea, but it's going to be a lot more than that (I would guess in the hundreds/MWh). Mill is the process bottleneck and will be kWh limited so solar is an absolute no brainer even for just carving out OPEX, not to mention it's hedged against FX and diesel supply issues (which we are suddenly seeing). All the miners are doing it regardless of ESG concerns.
