psau14, i've been told by several company directors that they prefer to raise capital with institutional buyers as it stabilizes the share price. retail investors are more likely to dump shares for short term profits and whip the share price around, whereas insto's tend to stay in for the longer haul.
i'm just grateful that SLR even gives us the shot to participate in the raising. they are certainly under no legal obligation to give we little retail guys the opportunity to do so (even though i think companies should treat all classes or shareholders equally)
