Yes but you to have to trust them to a certain extent because they have detailed info (and probably experience) the market generally does not.
At this stage you are substantially investing in experience, connections, methodologies etc with a hope the people running this are best equipped to make the most of the opportunities. If you don't believe this then there is little you can do other than manage risk by adjusting the size of your investment accordingly.
A number of clinches spring to mind, but one is "if it was easy, then everyone would do it".
