    That's not Linius VVE, sorry, I have tried to explain it as simply as possible but what you're describing is a significant reduction in the size of the video itself, which by any definition is some form of compression (i.e. reprocessing the video OR stripping out empty space).

    There is no empty space inside a traditional MP4 video file because a video + audio file is several gigabytes.

    VVE does not reprocess the encoded video data or attempt to compress it, instead, the virtualisation process creates two outputs:

    1. a vstub file (1% of the size of the original video), and
    2. the encoded video data (99% of the size of the original video)

    Users download the vstub (1% of the original video)... the vstub tells the player to download the encoded video data (99% of the size of the original video)... therefore net data downloaded = 100% of the size of the original video.
