Seems your numbers confirm what I posted, viz. on a % of RWA basis the ANZ is better provisioned than NAB
2003
NAB had RWA of $277bio and prov. of $2.56bio for a cover of 0.92%
ANZ had RWA of $152bio and prov of $2.01 bio for a cover of 1.32%
I consider the amount of provision in absolute terms or as a precentage of pure "assets" as not a true indicator.
RWA is a more accurate indicator as this values all of a bank's exposure to risk. On-balance sheet, off-balance sheet (even things such as fixed assets!).
