    I remember reading an article a few years ago - no longer have the orignal text but key point was that since 1920, the price of 1 oz Gold = 16 x 1 barrel of oil.

    For the period 2004 to 2007 the POG has = 9x 1 barrel of oil.

    Provides some basis for a more optimistic view of the POG in the longer term - IMO
