    Simple question:- Why swap secured debt for risky equity in a basket case?

    Simple answer:- Because they see long term value in the business and a higher equity price in the future!

    And look self serving downrampers, I managed to succinctly ask and answer the question in a few lines and not spend pages and pages of self serving analysis and crap!
