Yes, poor training is just a spurious excuse. No right minded person needs any training in this case where common sense and compassion should have prevailed. In any case, the cops are just ducking for cover in the knowledge that one of their own has FU big time. Ultimately, the courts will demand to see the footage, even if the police commissioner and the Minister for Police are too gutless to watch it - both should be sacked for that alone.
