Compensation ? Poor lady has passed away yet money still talks in this world. How much is a fair compensation? If we went back to the way insurance companies work, they seem to arrive at a conclusion by using the 'averaging' method. The average age of death in Australia is about 81 and a bit. Strangley the average age of a patient with covid was about 87 so statistically going out with covid is better for the average octogenerian than all of the other causes. You live longer. The other causes being a multitude including cancer, heart disease, organ failure etc. Add to the list is now death by taser although I reckon somewhere else in this country it may have happened before. So the insurance companies using their averaging method will actually not pay out anything. The insurance companies may ask for 14 years of extra paid living for the 95 year old to be paid back to the police association. You think insurance companies don't request life insurance from dead people? Think again. Anything is possible. I reckon that just about closes my chapter here until the folks with white wigs front the big building with columns at the front and talk mammas and pappas.

I think the only compensation that is relevant would be 1. appropriate penalty for the officer and 2. the public get to see a better training program so that this can't happen again.
