I Watched something recently about the two scientist who originally wrote papers about the possibility of CO2's contributing to global warming back in the 60's. This paper started the movement and one of the scientists was Al Gore's professor at uni who inspired Gore to take up the warming crusade.
Ironically, before the professor died in the 90's he wrote several letters to senators and a paper admitting that he may be wrong and is highly sceptical of CO2's influence on warming the planet. He wanted to warn authorities on creating policies And legislation based on his likely "flawed science".
The letters were mostly ignored and we will all understand this, Al Gore put it down to senility to which his colleague way back when states that he certainly had all of his marbles right up to when he suffered a heart attack.
Ironically, after his death some type of contribution to science or the environment award was made in this scientist honour/name. The inaugural winner of the award -Al Gore.
