I signed up to the $99/year plan last night, partly because it includes access to US imagery. The offer I received mentioned:

"And for a limited time, we've also made our newly-captured USA imagery available to Australian nearmap subscribers."

I couldn't find the US imagery so emailed Nearmap support and received the following response:

"Our US coverage is just beginning but should expand rapidly. At the moment it is limited to Santa Barbara, CA."

The Santa Barbara imagery is dated 1 May.
