there wouldn't be much ego or emotion involved in buying a $20k vehicle. as you rightly say, you get what you pay for.
my point is that EVs are the transition that is next in line after power stations. such pricing and production of affordable cars for those less wealthy is necessary to replace all ICE vehicles. so far the prices have been too high for the least well off to afford. now that barrier is going.
but you say "burning down your garage" is an argument against buying an EV? preposterous propaganda. for ICE car is more likely to catch fire than an EV. besides that, the model I posted to example this is powered by a solid state battery, not Li. the battery is replaced "swap and go" design which will take around the same time it takes to fill your petrol tank.
read the article and realise your mistakes.
