the nu ber if headwinds for vocus pushed it into the too rsiky basket for me:
- board instability
- loss of key leaders with corporate knowledge of the company and technical expertise of the products and industry in general, making integration and synergies harder
- the fact that key leaders are leaving suggests internal problems we are not party to
- the instability at the top usually is followed by key exits of middle managers / tech experts aligned with those leaving
- the new competition with the 2nd undersea cable which will hurt margins
- heavy short position alerts one to possible unseen factors that retail investors are not considering as described well by bug1
- endless sp decline from almost $10 to $3 with rapid falls recently suggesting further technical damage coming such that $3 likely to be retested.
- nbn margin compression (minor issue)
i liked vocus but i had to cut my losses a couple of weeks ago so will ignore takeover talk and stay on the sidelines for now until further clarity is provided.
