Crops looking OK on the Liverpool plains. I'd think we could still grow an excellent crop. Fallow crops could go 6 t. Crops into summer stubbles, 3 t. Still getting frosts, and will probably get one tonight, but not doing any harm yet, it's normal.

Got from 25 to 50 mls over the whole area. Just what was needed. I got 41 mls. Pretty good falls out west too, although one small isolated area at Moree missed it all. I'd reckon northern NSW will grow at least an average crop. Some harvest contrators have been out for a look. Plenty of 2.5t crops about.

It's the crop in southern NSW that's in trouble. Without the deep soils, wet summer, and stored water of the north, they have run out of water. Some of these fellas are stareing at their 4th failed crop in a row. Terrible stuff.

Prices? What do you do? It's terrible. At least fert and roundups cheap too now. You just have to hang on and hope for some sort of failure overseas next year. The US is well overdue for a production problem.
