Yesterday's AFR also pointed to what may be driving a lot of spec stock sell off, as well as others, is the amount of margin calls being made by the big trading houses, the numbers are HUGE compared with a week ago. people need cash to cover their butts.
i personally know two people who have been hit so hard they listed their investment properties for sale yesterday to help fill the gap on the calls.
