some of them yes. But not all. And we are as much to blame as any.

We took loans that were a stretch. We allowed our councils etc. to buy AAA rated instruments that Daffy could have worked out were crap.

We allowed a lot of this stuff to happen.

We elected Prime ministers and Presidents (twice in some cases) when we were just looking after our individual back pockets.

imo, we are all to blame.

for the life of me I can't see how any individual could do a seachange in american politics - the whole thing stinks.

imo, people like BB could have just played much more conservatively - but the bloke took a punt - and I believe for the right reasons.
Whether it is a good bet in the end is to be seen --------- but, where the hell would we be if he had done differently?

Daffy might have done it differently - but, the outcome was always going to be unclear -------------- it still is.

I am hopeful we learn something from this for a better future for all ----------- but it takes a lot of years to learn lessons -------- and it takes people with guts to try new big things.
