Sure the company would obviously be spruiking shale gas prospects but contractors would know before most as they have to apply for the tenders.
I also don't see any competitive advantage in telling the market that shale gas will triple and getting more contractors directing tendering resources to compete with you.
I agree with the sentiment that offshore wells are more reliable long term sources but I don't think its fair to say China is writing off 36Tr cubic metres of shale gas just yet.
