Germany established gun control in 1938 and from 1939 to
1945, a total of 13 million Jews and others who were
unable to defend themselves were rounded up and
exterminated.

German gun laws were enacted by the Weimar Republic on
12 April 1928, a full 5 years before Hitler came to
power.

Infact gun laws were loosened during the 3rd Reich as
rifles and ammunition could be bought basically freely.

The Jews were disarmed because they had declared war on
Germany and were considered enemies of the State, just
as had occurred in Allied countries regarding the German,
Japanese and Italian people.

Weimar Republic

But the Volkswehr within the framework of the November
revolution in Germany appeared briefly just after the
first world war in the democratic Weimar Republic.
The powers demanded the disarmament also in the civil
sector in article 177 of the Treaty of Versailles.

This was decided by the German Reichstag on August 5,
1920. A complete disarmament not achieved but, since the
gun was not registered.

The registration took place with the first
comprehensive regulation of the Waffenrechts in the
Reich Law on firearms and ammunition from 12 April 1928.
It replaced the Republic protection law of 1922,
which was adopted after the assassination of Walther
Rathenau against right-wing extremist groups.


National socialism

From 1933, the Weimar gun legislation and collected
directly by the Nazis to its implementation were used to
the Jews to disarm. Their reliability has been stripped
of regional, their arms purchase tickets were
confiscated, searched their apartments, the weapons
seized. The unauthorized possession of weapons suspected
led to raids.

On March 18, 1938, the Nazis adopted the Reich gun laws
