Homo Deus, or man god.
Now this fine fellow comes to us with his own challenges. He is Jewish with its associated persecution complexes. He is gay and married to a life partner, once again this must carry some residual effect upon his persona and approach to life. And Homo Deus, in that he believes that we are self-contained beings grown up in a godless universe and can substantiate all human behaviour via reason.
Thanks for bringing this to our attention, especially in light of the Trump election. So working analogues of human predictability very likely placed Trump upon the throne. Marketing has known this stuff worked for hundreds of years but we never had the feed-back loop to refine this into a malignant force.
The world is in a dramatic state of change and we have old world systems to protect us from new world paradigm maladies. Our electoral systems, financial systems and legal systems are very vulnerable to this en masse profiling and its consequences.
To some degree slavery, pop music, McDonalds and KFC, TV, sport, political parties, religious affiliations, etc have been dabbling at the edges of seeing people via their emotional states and thus in analogue form, but they never had the feed-back loop to refine this into such a predictive and concentrated form.
Yuval has a beautiful mind and though I don't necessarily draw his conclusions, he is at least bringing to the attention of the world the extreme dangers and possible consequences of unbridled systems of human profiling, such as Facebook and the like.
