I think this is a classic example of clouding the issue .
Is the problem the aesthetics or the environmental damage ? Which is the greater evil ?
The aerial shot of the csg field looks dramatic , no doubt about it . But are we all flying around in planes ?
I recommend jumping in your car and drive around these areas . The csg field will be pretty hard to see .
Going back to the aerial shot . Notice all the cleared land for farming ? How does that look compared to the original natural environment ? Couldn't it be argued that farming is a visual blight on the natural landscape ?
Of course , we have rightly sacrificed the natural landscape for the very important requirement for food production . Surely we can use the same argument for csg production as long as it's done safely , just as farming is ?
