Just received the first feedback from a F.M. suggesting there may not be a rate rise. (a PDF).
It squarely indicates the currency appreciation may stop the RBA raising rates in Feb or at least dominate discussion.
Contains references to the Reagan years and how Bernie Fraser talked down the currency by almost 10%. Possibly suggesting the RBA will try to talk down the $AUD?
