I disagree with the mainstream narrative that you have bought into: that there is something ethically wrong with payday lenders.

Imagine a payday lender does not exist. Somebody with a poor credit rating needs money - there is nobody to provide it because they won't take on the risk. What happens then? Well they just simply cannot pay for what they need to and they fall even further downwards in society. Or if you would believe the stories, the only people who would provide this kind of lending would be 'mob' type groups because people are strongly incentivized to pay them back.

So thankfully, we have companies in society like Cash Converters that exist that meet this need and demand in society. Unfortunately, we have a growing socialist and left-wing agenda in Australia that only applies superficial analysis to these problems and encourage people to buy in to sob stories. Because let's be honest, to lend money in the way that Cash Converters does, is accompanied with significant risk - hence the higher return on their investment. It is nothing more than we as investors expect when we invest our money - we wouldn't invest in higher risk unless it provided a higher return.

So apart from the fact that you have bought into the mainstream ideology, I agree.
