    it is not a good example. Like I said, in the first instance, the owner had no legal right to that $100 and thus could not legally use it to pay off his debt. In real life, he would have been charged with fraudulent conversion.

    You mentioned debt, in that case, yes, the owner could use it to pay off his debt as he did have legal right to use it.
