    You can see how people like Swan just try to appease the least educated in our community. If he 'bans' exit fees, the banks will just increase other fees to make up for that loss or next time go for 0.5% instead of 0.45%.

    The reason there now appears to be a problem is because the government has limited competition on our banking sector. To add to that the government has intervened in markets, with taxpayer funds, on behalf of banks to lower their costs of funding to borrowers and guarantee their deposits - both of which have hurt the savers, who in times of higher credit costs, should be getting a higher return on their savings. Swan, your a pawn who helped create the beast, now reap what you have sowed.
