    • PayPal were paying for customers in their land grab - so not only did they not have revenue in the early phase, they had ballooning costs - had they not done this they would never had lured people away from Visa and MasterCard - that they did this ensured they became a $multibillion company making Elon Musk fabulously rich

    • Amazon spent faster than they earnt for the first 15 years of trading - this was their land grab - they too would never have become a behemoth if they had taken a conservative path
