Boeing has weathered the storm and are now getting more orders up there with Airbus so belief is there that they are making the change to put out a quality product once again. Lets hope they have CVM in the mix.
Because fuel economies are now the big demand the carbon composites are the flavor because they are lighter than the metal structures which is what the CVM sensor was first designed for as a metal fatigue crack detector. So where does it fit in with carbon composites which have three main defect problems, delamination's, glazing and the big one dis-bonding. This is the Airbus review carried out back in 2013 of all the sensor products available, including those as applications on carbon composites. Notice CVM get a big tick for dis-bonding so we are still in there with these changes.
