Get over yourself. I reckon you'd make people salute you if you could. You obviously think you're a bit better than everyone else.
I have to laugh at upper management types that I have worked with in the past when they end up in the real world after retirement. They just hate it because at the checkout in the supermarket they are an average person just like everyone else. No longer can they boss people around and they are devasted.
It's them that has the problem, not the other way round.
" I doubt that you have polled many( or even any) on the issue. "
Matter a fact I have . Through my hobbies involving old cars and bikes I have a lot to do with older white males. In fact, they dominate that category by far. I also work with plenty of older white males.
None of them could give a continental about all that stuff. They just like people to be happy and enjoy life. While they may have interests in cars etc, at the end of the day it is just another way of them socialising. Doesn't seem to matter what the medium is, whether it's bushwalking, gardening, wood and metal work, art etc. It's just a way for them to stay engaged with the community.
That's why men's shed's work so well.
So it seems the angry ones are the ones that think they're missing out. For whatever reason they've got the sads and it's everyone else's fault.
Do yourself a favor. Join a club or a community group where you have to mix with people of all ages and persuasions. I'm always surprised how people are initially a bit standoffish at first, but once they connect over a common interest, all that Mr and Sir rubbish goes out the window.
Just because someone doesn't call you Mr, Sir , Mr President etc does not mean they are not being polite.
In fact, it is because they don't want to offend anyone, I would argue they are being more polite rather than just being robots. Just because someone calls you sir, it doesn't mean they don't think you're a tool. I'd rather worry about people actually think of me as opposed to a bit of Trump style lip service. But hey, that's just me and the rest of society.
