"consensus" is great as a concept but its a bit fuzzy and inefficient. Leadership is about having the courage to make decisions, and then be willing to stand or fall as a consequence.
While we navel-gaze, lets not forget that HC represents a broad X-section of investors whose livelihood depends heavily on the quality of leadership that our governments (and Oppositions) give us. It would be hypocrisy to say we'd be happy with the fuzzy and unpredictable alternative that consensus (conscience votes etc) would prove to be. Let's keep it real.
