As Tobias Carlisle of The Acquirers Multiple fame says - "zig when the market zags". I.e in order to make outsized gains one must zig when that market zags, in other words be contrarian. Markets are sentiment driven and have a habit of deeply under valuing and deeply over valuing businesses.
