    EGM is not a technical term but it is still used widely to differentiate between the AGM (which is a technical defined term) and all other GMs. If you look at most GM notices they will say EGM if it is not the AGM. If you just call it a GM people tend to get confused. Although apparently people get confused if you call it EGM anyway (as Bob demonstrated)!
