BIT225 will not affect cirrhosis or cancer, as it is targeting the viral ion channels, and patients may still need ongoing therapy.

However, if all goes to plan, BIT225 will be administered before advanced liver damage is incurred in future patients. As HEP C is often asymptomatic, there will most often be at least some level of liver damage.
