If gold goes high due to inflation, or due to fiat currencies being worthless then gold will be worth a great deal if valued in worthless currency.

Only if other asset classes fall in relation to gold - and why would they?
I have exposure to some gold juniors, but prefer specialty metals which are being consumed and can not so easily come flooding back onto the market at some point. A big hick-up in demand is likely, but that creates a longer accumulation phase, providing you have income from somewhere other than trading.
I sure as hell am no expert, but I am trying to think it through.
Stories of miracles are all well and good, but good fundamentals do not need embellishing. - also for every "lucky" event there are 10,000 unlucky ones - does that make it a miracle or probability?
