It's simple. India doesn't have good EV battery technology or manufacturing capability. if Omega tried to go with a dodgy local battery manufacturer which offered it at half the price they'd probably break down within a year or less, which given they offer 3 year warranties it would be a massive loss to business and huge reputational damage. They could go under as a result.

Even if the IM3/C4V batteries are twice the supply price than a local maker, the already demonstrated longevity of 1000 recharges before degradation to 80% (equivalent to3-5 years of heavy battery use), makes their triwheels look good too and they probably can charge a premium. It's a win-win arrangement really.
