DJ Why Sandfire, Western Areas, Sirius Resources Should Merge -Bell Potter --
    Market Talk

0035 GMT (Dow Jones) Bell Potter tips a merger between mid-cap Aussie nickel
mining companies Sandfire Resources (SFR.AU), Western Areas (WSA.AU) and Sirius
Resources (SIR.AU). "A SFR-WSA-SIR combination would create value for
shareholders by improving debt and equity financing terms, improving capacity to
undertake value-accretive corporate activity, diversifying metals price risks,
saving on corporate overheads and improving corporate longevity through mine
life," Bell Potter analyst Stu Howe says. "A merger would combine three
high-grade base metals assets into a A$2.5b, top-100 ASX company." SFR is last
down 0.8% at A$5.58, WSA is up 1.4% at A$4.38 and SIR is up 1% at A$2.93.
