Hi Guys and Gals,
I`ve just done the below on the back of my fag packet but really did not take long, I may have missed out a few things but think Ive got most things covered. I am a 32 year O & G upstream professional so take it from me most timelines are correct, may even be a bit to keen actually but I am allowing for a softer sector due to lower prices downstream etc.. I would be really interested to see where you guys think you are in the below timeline scale to getting first well results from Murchison. This does not go into monitisation from a proven resource downstream, that is 2-.5 years plus from the last point here. I would love to see where you are and which points you feel are completely irrelevant in your strategy of developing the first Murchison deep flank well. Please keep it civil, look forward to your input as seasoned experts you all seem to be. Remember Murchison has been identified by your resource " EXPERTS" as tight reservoir, and predominantly gas bearing.... You are drilling in a nature conversation area I believe as well ? This changes the ball park from everything you have to done to date with nodding donkeys, so please no reference to a Donkey
- Seismic studies, 2d or 3d fast steam - RFQ , do we offer equity or do we pay, dependent on the scale of resource we are looking for…. Placing of contract – 1 -3 months
- Seismic studies begin , 2 -6 weeks
- Interpretation of Seismic studies in house – 2 -3 months
- Independent verification of Seismic Studies – 1 month
- Resource and reservoir, geographical contingency reports – 1 month
- Outside independent verification of resource contingency reports- 1 month
- Feasibility reports on commercial and downstream solutions , CAPEX estimates – 1-6 months
- Outside independent feasibility reports on commercial and downstream solutions – 1 - 3 months
- Environmental approvals, local government approvals, legalisation of and award off – 2 months
- Open up data centre to potential farminees – 1 - 12 months dependent on the quality of A – I
- Expression of Interest from farminee – 1 - 3 months
- Farminee`s Due diligence process begins – 3 - 6 months
- Farminee notifies with intention of farm in with terms and conditions either covering full costs or part costs of well carry - 2 - 4weeks ( if part carry, go back to J and restart the process)
- Legalisation of paperwork , further due diligence - 1- 2 months
- Finalisation of environmental approvals – 1 - 3 month
- Well modelling and well design, prepare drilling programme – 1-2 month
- Submit drilling programme for government and environmental sign off- 2 weeks
- Sourcing of rig, services and downhole tangibles to meet the target and agreed costs – 1 -4 months
- Preparation of civil works and ground services – 2 months
- Mobilisation of rig and tangibles to well site – 1 – 3 months
- Acceptance and sign of of rig at wellsite – 1 -3 weeks
- Final Authority and enviromental approval to spud well - 1 - 2 weeks
- Spud well and drill top hole, run conductor – 1 week
- Enter deeper sections, run casing- 1 week
- Enter 12-1/4 sections and prepare for horizontal drilling – 1- 2 weeks
- Run casing and drill into reservoir horizontally, 1 week
- Take logs, either LWD or wireline, determine forward progress , positive results run liner or a production tubing.
- Prepare for well testing and hydraulic stimulation if required , button down rig, seek final environmental and government approvals for flaring and testing potential reservoir gas – 2 - 3 week
- Flow test shut in, flow test choke back as required, test duration as specified in programme.
- Shut in well
- Begin further feasibility studies on upstream modelling dependent on well results – 2 – 4 weeks
- Declare a commercial or uncommercial find – 2 weeks
- If uncommercial …..go back to square 1 if commercial then the work really begins….expect a 2 – 5 year solution to monitisation of a proven commercial natural gas resource from this point
