Hello all.

From Ted's open briefing on 9 May 02:

"There is potential to increase the reserves by discovering oil in deeper Tertiary sands which were not drilled by the first well and also in the B Sands which contained a 7 metre gas column in Chinguetti-1. If the reserves are larger, the profitability from the field will improve."

I think they had originally planned to drill Ching2 deeper than they ended up doing, for whatever reason. Presumably the original idea was to test the deeper sands. So my guess is that with Ching4 they've tested these, it's downthrown so perhaps more like Ching1 (that's my guess). Anyway, let's hope they found a large 50+API oil column extending right down to the deeper TD.
