Brokers almost NEVER own shares in their own right in my experience.
I'll bet all are held on behalf of (as nominee), for clients whom are in fact the beneficial owners. That the broker/nominee is insolvent doesn't mean the shares need to be sold.
ergo, that the real estate agent goes broke doesn't mean you lose your house.
