What has also been mentioned before is that Mr Godoy approached MNE for the job. He was with BHP when they tried to purchase El Roble but couldn't come to terms. Godoy had already done due diligence for BHP years ago.
Godoy couldn't believe MNE's luck in picking up El Roble as they were in the right place at the right time as the owner of EL Roble needs the cash.
Also discussed earlier is that a US listed spec picked up the rights for El Roble earlier this year and went from a tiny market cap to one of $400 mil in a couple of months but it fell over. That's when MNE picked it up.
