Is our society so dumbed down now that we complain about spending a few dollars out of pocket for the sake of our health? Hands up who doesn't waste significantly more money on trivialities and unnecessary things daily, weekly, monthly, or every year. How many people I see spending more on snack food, or a $5+ coffee and $14 foccacia sandwich, $20+ for a drink/popcorn at the cinema, $7 Birthday or Engagement card, or interest payments on the credit card for that thingy-ma-doodad from David Jones or Myer that they really didn't need, or car loan to "keep up" with their neighbour's or friend's "luxury" lifestyle, or $1k smartphone upgrade so you can browse the internet and play candy crash a few milliseconds faster than before, or maybe they just watched "The Block" and decided to splurge on the same granite bench top or tiling they just saw.
It's just like that movie 'Idiocracy'. Everyone only interested in fun and games, while making a mockery of anyone who puts any thought into the essentials of our lives.
